The
Rackwalker
is a very buoyant lure, which will work well in any estuary system on a
number of species. The lure can be worked from 0
to 5 ft deep depending
on retrieve speed and position of the rod tip. When targeting bream I use a
slow retrieve and try to keep the lure as close as possible to the structure
I’m fishing. When I feel the lure hitting the structure I stop the retrieve
and allow the lure to float over the obstruction before continuing my
retrieve. What this does is it keeps the lure in the strike zone as long as
possible.
The
Rackwalker
has also been proven to be very effective on Flathead in shallow water. When
targeting Flathead, I like to use a constant retrieve and have the lure
hitting the bottom as often as possible.
When using
the
Rackwalker
I
don’t like to use a snap swivel. I tie a loop knot directly to the lure as
this will give it its most natural action. When I am fishing really snaggy
country, I remove the middle treble, as this will significantly decrease the
amount of times your lure will hook-up.
